xSG Hub

xSG Hub Official Trailer

xSG Hub Description

xSG Hub, inspired by the MCF Hub, is a new hub for all non-full games that get created. It acts as the centre for a bunch of individual mini-games. Instead of committing to a full-blown game, you can sit back and enjoy some small, fun mini-games. The hub will be the host of all sorts of mini-games, so all kinds of players can find something they enjoy playing. Examples of mini-game types are Player vs Player, Player vs Environment, Parkour, Racing, Knowledge-based and many more.

xSG Hub Contents

All about the Hub

In the xSG Hub, you'll spawn in a small lobby area from which you'll have four directions you can go. The four directions you may go are labelled on the floor (hover your cursor over the coloured blocks). In case you can't see the labels for each path or just don't fancy checking, the directions are as follows: "Classic Cafe" (green), "Hall of Fame" (yellow), "Game District" (purple) and "Hub Store" (blue). To access these areas, you'll need to parkour to the portals. The parkour blocks are invisible but are always there. A coloured block in that direction's colour will highlight the blocks occasionally to help you locate the invisible blocks. Don't worry if you fall off; there are no consequences. You will get teleported back to the original spawn point, and an internal counter will be updated. This internal counter (also referenced as a "fall counter") is private to you. Only you can see the score. To see how many times you have fallen at spawn, you may press any one of four stone buttons located on the floor.

Furthermore, each day you log into the world, you will be rewarded 5 Gold. This system gets reset each IRL day at GMT/BST time (depending on the time of year). This daily login system will also track how many days you have played since the world began. This score is now visible once you log in. There's also a playtime counter displayed on the HUD (alongside your currently owned Gold). This playtime counter tracks how long you've played the xSG Hub world. If you enter a game, you'll see the playtime counter for that game in replacement for the overall playtime counter visible from the central hub. The overall playtime counter will continue to track the time, even when not visible. Individual game playtime counters get paused once you exit the game associated with the counter. The main hub playtime counter is visible with gold text. The individual game playtime counters are found with cyan text to help you differentiate the difference.

All about the Classic Cafe (🟩 Green)

The "Classic Cafe" was initially built on the MCF Hub world. This cafe was the focal point of that world and acted as the host for all the madness. It has since been rebuilt entirely, block for block, in the xSG Hub. In the xSG Hub, the cafe is not the focal point and is no longer how you access all the mini-games. The cafe build has served the MCF group members well and will continue to serve both the xSG community and OG MCF members. The cafe will forever have a place in my heart and many of the MCF members for the memories it has created and will continue to make over the years. The cafe has kept all its original functionality, charm, secrets and good looks. You can access this cafe creation from the hub centre at any time. All the hidden items (excluding the key to the cafe gardens) have moved to keep them as "secrets". Additionally, the old record player has had an update allowing for the newest Minecraft songs (e.g. "Relic" by Aaron Cherof) and the ability to control the volume (changes to the audio level of the records will not affect currently playing records, only records playing after the changes).

The secret food found in the cafe is limited to 5 per day; this is to give the new food system for the xSG Hub more use and give everyone a reason to play the mini-games. The new food system is similar to the old one in that an NPC serves it. However, in the new system, the NPC has had an update. You'll now be required to bring the chef some ingredients, which are purchasable from Faye's Farmfoods (you'll also find a recipe book here). Once you've obtained the required ingredients to make a particular recipe (the NPC will tell you any ingredients you do not have, if there are any), you may ask the NPC to create the food for you. If you played the old MCF Hub, you'll not be charged any Gold for this transaction. If you didn't play the old MCF Cafe, it'll cost you a small 1 Gold fee per transaction. The drinks menu was refreshed too, although everyone gets free drinks.

All about the Hall of Fame (🟨 Yellow)

The "Hall of Fame" is the place all about statistics and showing off your game records. You can visit this area any time to see the statistics from any game you have played. The statistics stored are varied from game to game, so make sure to check here to see what kind of values get saved. The Hall of Fame is also the place to see the map credits of the xSG Hub. Additionally, you may find a button here that can announce the current locations of all online players. Just so you know – this announcement is displayed to you, no one else. Finally, you'll see some of the top gamers in the xSG Hub here; check back regularly to see if you are one! Please remember, all statistics are private and can only be seen by you unless you decide to share them. The games in the xSG Hub are strictly there for fun; this means that statistics don't matter. Play to have fun, not to win. A little friendly competition is okay, but it's not the focus of the hub.

All about the Game District (🟪 Purple)

The "Game District" is the new focal point for finding all the different types of mini-games available. The District has three sections. These are "MCF Hub Classics", "xSnipez Games", and "xSG Hub Newbies". The "MCF Hub Classics" section is for all the mini-games that once were added or planned for the old MCF Hub world. The "xSnipez Games" section is the place to see all the current external games, their history and all the information about them. Finally, the "xSG Hub Newbies" section will be the location to find any new games that weren't added or planned for the old MCF Hub world.

All about the Hub Store (🟦 Blue)

The "Hub Store" is a branch of the xSG Hub Centre. While in the xSG Hub world, you will see a clear "Gold 0" display on your screen. This indicator is how much Gold you own. The Gold is spendable in the xSG Hub Store. "Gold" can be earned from playing games and logging in. You will receive 5 Gold per real-time day you log in to the world. The daily login bonus is reset during GMT/BST time (depending on the time of year). The Hub Store is a market placed inside a valley, starting from a cavern. On exiting the cavern, you'll find a long valley of stores selling various goods you may wish to unlock or buy. A list of all the current stores and what they sell can be found below.

Fist Fight | Available

Fist Fight is a Player vs Player type gamemode initially introduced in the old MCF Hub world. The game has a focus on an arena. In the "arena", players can battle it out by punching each other until they fall off the edges of the map. Falling off is considered a "loss", though there are no consequences. In the new xSG Hub world, a statistic tracks the number of times you have been "knocked off". Sharing this statistic is up to the player. In the original version of this gamemode, you could choose a weapon and armour too. The weapons were not literal in the sense that they gave extra damage (e.g. a stick). The armour also provided no additional buffs or defence. Netherite armour got left out of the initial version of the game due to the knockback resistance the armour gives; it will also get left out in the new version.

In Fist Fight, it isn't all about your fists, believe it or not. Fist Fight has an armoury and weaponsmith. The weaponsmith provides non-damage-based weapons. The currently available weapons are a stick, a blaze rod, a bone and bamboo. Below is a list of all available non-damage-based weapons, prices, and rarities. The armoury is more advanced than it was in the old MCF Hub. It allows you to choose a type of armour, an armour trim/colour, and if using leather armour, you may dye it another colour. Below is a list of all available armours, trims/trim colours, dyes, prices and rarities.

Finally, you may customise the arena experience by editing the banners and map. Arena banners can be changed to any of the three designs, at any time, by any player (for free). Arena maps are changeable by any player. After a map is changed, there is a small cooldown before players can change it again. There is a total of six unique map themes. These themes are "Plains", "Cherry Blossom", "Desert", "Snow", "Nether", and "Cave". Each map theme has three variations. Each variation can be generated in all four rotations. There are 72 possible outcomes (the formula is 6 x 4 x 3). Map themes are free to change. Map variations and directions are randomly generated, not chosen.

Minecraft Quiz | Available

Minecraft Quiz is a gamemode which was planned to be introduced in the old MCF Hub world. The gamemode was never officially planned out and never made it into the game. The focus of this game is to test your knowledge of Minecraft and all things in it. Upon entering "Minecraft Quiz" you are taken into a mini-hub for the game. This hub will allow you to see each category available and which ones currently have players inside. You'll not be able to enter if there is a player inside of a category. You may select any other category for as long as it is available. Availability is displayed on the sign above the categories button. There is also a light indicator which will turn on if someone is playing in that particular category.

The game is pretty simple in terms of gameplay; to begin, simply choose a category and press the corresponding button. You'll be taken into a room in which you'll be able to give your answers. Each category has been programmed with 50 questions. Questions will be randomly chosen and given to you in no particular order. Answer the questions as best as you can. Wrong answers will result in losing a life. You only have 3 lives per play session. Losing all 3 lives will result in the game ending. Correct answers will add to your streak. Consecutive correct answers will build up your streak. A wrong answer will break the streak and reset it back to 0. Earning a streak will reward Gold. You may only play "Minecraft Quiz" once a day, so make it count.

There are 5 categories in which you can choose from. Their current availability is below. You will also find a streak bonus list. Minecraft Quiz tracks a lot of statistics. It tracks each correct answer, incorrect answer and Gold earned for each play session, each category and a total overall score. Category and overall totals are always available to see. Last play session scores are replaced every time you play the game. Additionally, it tracks your current and highest streak for that particular play session. Furthermore, it tracks the highest streak you've earned in each category. If a current streak becomes higher than the "highest streak", the game will correctly update the highest streak. This is the same when a "highest streak" becomes higher than a "best streak". Last play session statistics are visible at the end of the game and in the Hall of Fame. All other statistics are only found in the Hall of Fame. Finally, the game can correctly identify if you've played that day and which category you played. The last category you played is also displayed to you in the Hall of Fame.

Block Race | Available

Block Race is a gamemode which was previously introduced in the old MCF Hub world. The gamemode was fully implemented officially. The focus of this game is to test your speed, block-placing talents and reaction time. Upon entering "Block Race" you are taken to the "waiting" area. The waiting area will allow you to wait to join the next game, or simply access the spot where you may begin the next game. The waiting area is also where you may vote for a map. You'll know you're in the waiting area due to the "waiting" status indication displayed on your HUD. Players who have a "waiting" status are allowed to leave the game. You may not leave the game if you have a "loading", "spectating" or "playing" status. You may also not leave during an active vote.

Players are required to stand on the two pressure plates to begin the game. Once activated, the game will start to load. While this process takes place, you'll be shown a "loading" status. The loading status will last for approximately 5 seconds. You can see this timer displayed both on your HUD and on the signs where the rules are listed before a game begins. The glass panes will also change colour to indicate the game is about to start when there are 3 seconds left of the timer. After the timer has expired, you'll be given the "playing" status and the glass panes will be removed. It is then your task to reach the end by any means necessary. There is only one main rule, no speed bridging. You may hit other players if you desire. Blocks are infinite.

The "spectating" status is given to "waiting" players who choose to spectate the game. You may spectate the game by walking into the game as a "waiting" player. You may only do this if you were in the voting area whilst the game started (or if you entered the game whilst it had already started or is currently in session). Spectators may not win the game. Spectators are also limited to the map play zone. Entering the floor, ceiling, end wall or side walls will teleport the spectating player back to the start of the map. Spectators are in the spectator gamemode whilst spectating. You may leave spectator mode by going to the start point of the game and flying into the area (the game should automatically swap you back to the correct area and gamemode).

The "voting" status is given to all "waiting" players when a vote is activated. A vote may be activated by a minimum of two players by standing on the two pressure plates located in the voting area. Each time a vote is cast, players will be automatically shown each of the maps. Players will be shown three scenes for each of the three maps. Once all three scenes are shown, the camera will zoom out and show all three of the scenes together before announcing the map name. After this, the game will move to the next map until it has shown all three maps. Signs are left above each map voting zone to remind players of which map it is. Once all three maps are shown to the voting players, players will have 30 seconds to vote for the map they'd like to win. To vote for a map, players must stand inside the blue-marked voting zones located in each of the voting segments.

Once the 30 seconds for a vote has expired, the game will count the players and announce the winner. The map will also be loaded accordingly. If the game detects no players in any of the voting zones, the vote will fail and the system will reset itself; the map will not be changed. If the game detects more players in any one of the three voting zones in comparison to the other zones, the game will announce the winner and load that particular map. If the game detects a tie between two of the different maps, it shall pick a random map of the two winners and load that one accordingly. If there is a three-way tie, also referred to as a "super tie", the game will pick any three of the maps and load that one accordingly. Maps will remain the same until a new vote is cast for quick replayability. Voting may not be initiated whilst a game is active. A game can not be started whilst a vote is active.

If you are the first to reach the end, you are deemed the winner. The winner will receive 2 to 4 Gold for winning. Losers will not receive any special bonus. A message is displayed to winning players stating they won, the Gold they earned for winning and the number of times they died that game. For losers, they receive a similar message; however, it instead displays that the winner won and no Gold count is displayed as they don't earn any. Wins and losses are tracked and can be viewed at the Hall of Fame. You may also view your total times played, overall earned Gold, the death count from the last time you played, the overall death count and W/L Ratio (Win/Loss Ratio). The WLR is calculated as wins divided by losses. This score is an estimate as Minecraft scoreboards can't currently display decimal numbers (numbers are automatically rounded down).

Players may select a "mode" before each game, allowing them to get a range of items depending on the mode selected. The game has 4 modes that can be selected, one of which is the default game with no add-on items. The other 3 "modes" are "snowballs", "wind charges" and "random items". If the "snowballs" toggle is selected, the game will choose a random amount between 1 and 2, giving this amount to all players. This works the same as the "wind charge" mode, but players are given wind charges instead of snowballs. If players select the "random" mode, the game will pick two separate random numbers between 0 and 2. One number represents the amount of snowballs players are given and the other represents the wind charges. Snowballs and wind charges are given right as a game starts and removed once a game ends. The amount of items given in the game is displayed at the start to everyone in Block Race, right after the list of players. Only one of these modes may be selected at a time. If the "snowballs" and "wind charges" modes are both selected, the game will automatically swap to the "random" mode. If the "random" mode is selected and then another mode is selected, the "random" mode will be disabled.

Cat & Mouse | Unavailable

Cat and Mouse is a gamemode which was planned to be introduced in the old MCF Hub world. The gamemode was never officially planned out and never made it into the game. In this game, you'll be primarily focussing on your parkour skills.

Information regarding other games will be added once they are added, completed or being worked on.
